Visual Video Analysis

Analyse YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram videos visually and aurally through natural language — break down editing styles, dissect hooks, study on-screen text, and understand what makes content perform.

Prerequisites

Best for visual and audio analysis. For text summaries and transcription, use the Video Content transcript tools first — they're faster and use a separate quota.

Your AI assistant calls these tools automatically. Just paste a URL and describe what you want to analyse — NexLev handles the rest.

Tools

watch_youtube_video_and_ask

Watch a YouTube video and ask anything about its visual content — editing style, hook, on-screen text, scene breakdowns, and more.

Example prompts:

Use CaseExample Prompt
Visual styleDescribe the editing style, b-roll usage, and camera movements in this video
Hook analysisWhat visual hook does the creator use in the first 5 seconds?
On-screen textList all on-screen text overlays, graphics, and captions shown throughout
Scene breakdownWhat is happening on screen at the 1:30 mark?
Thumbnail recreationDescribe the thumbnail style and color grading used in this video
Segment focusAnalyze the intro only (0–30s) — what makes it compelling visually?

How to use — paste a URL and your question:

Watch this video and tell me what hook they use in the first 5 seconds:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXX
Describe the editing style and b-roll usage in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXX
Analyze the intro only (0 to 30 seconds) — what makes it compelling?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXX

Parameters:

ParameterRequiredDescription
urlYesFull YouTube video URL
promptYesYour question or analysis request
startOffsetNoStart time in seconds (e.g. 90 for 1:30) — focus on a specific segment
endOffsetNoEnd time in seconds — use with startOffset to isolate a clip

Use startOffset and endOffset to focus on a specific segment of a long video — this is faster and keeps the analysis precise. For example, to analyse only the first 30 seconds, set startOffset=0 and endOffset=30.

Troubleshooting

Tool not responding?

  • Check your NexLev account is active and the MCP connection is complete (see Quickstart)
  • If you've hit your daily quota, Upgrade to Pro for higher limits

Video not accessible?

  • Confirm the video is publicly available and the URL is complete and unmodified
  • Private, age-restricted, or region-locked videos cannot be analysed

Response is slow?

  • Visual analysis is more compute-intensive than transcript fetching — longer videos take more time
  • Use startOffset / endOffset (YouTube) to focus on a specific segment and speed up the response

Want text-based analysis instead?

  • For transcripts and summaries, use Video Content — it's faster and uses a separate quota
